Beauty With Impact
What began as founder Sylvie Chantecaille’s passion has blossomed into a 20-year-long commitment to environmental philanthropy. Sylvie’s love of gardening led her to discover the crisis of disappearing Monarch butterflies, and the creation of our first philanthropy partnership. Since then, our philanthropy collections have helped raise awareness for endangered sea turtles, coral reefs, gorillas, wolves, bees, elephants, giraffes, and more. We are proud to give a voice to these urgent environmental causes.
With our Future Skin Cushion Foundation we’re supporting our longtime conservation partners Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in their successful orphaned elephant rehabilitation program and work safeguarding natural habitats for all species across Kenya. Every cushion feeds an orphan baby elephant rescued by the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. 1 cushion = 1 bottle of milk.

Our Luminescent Eye Shades were created to pay tribute to—and to benefit—six of Africa’s most endangered, vanishing species: the elephant, rhinoceros, cheetah, giraffe, lion and pangolin. All of these wild animals face common threats from shrinking habitats, conflict with humans, and illegal poaching, which make their long-term survival uncertain.
We created Lip Veil in support of our longtime partner Space for Giants and their vital work protecting African elephants, the landscapes they depend on, and the people who live near them. These wild species and spaces face unprecedented threats in the fallout from a global pandemic and economic crisis.
This collection of our celebrated cheek shades features six embossed compacts that benefit our favorite conservation efforts, from Monarch butterflies, which kick-started our passion for philanthropy and protecting endangered species, to coral reefs and wild horses.
Coral reefs are among the most diverse ecosystems on earth—harboring nearly 1 million species of fish, invertebrates and algae—and are a key indicator of ocean health. They are also extremely fragile, under assault from climate change, industrial fishing and pollution, including from some chemical sunscreens. Our reef-safe SeaScreen 30 supports WildAid Marine’s work to strengthen the enforcement and protection of Tanzania’s Pemba Channel.
No child should go hungry in the UK. But in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic, 5.1 million households with children experienced food insecurity—and that number continues to rise. Magic Breakfast works to ensure that no child in any of their partner schools is too hungry to learn, by providing healthy morning meals and expert support to reach pupils at risk.
Within the Carpathian Mountain range of Romania—the heart of Transylvania—time stands still. The region contains some of the largest-old growth forests on the European continent, which surround Medieval Saxon villages, mosaic-like farms traversed by horse-drawn carts, and vibrant hay meadows. These wild meadows, which ripple with wildflowers, butterflies, and 200-plus bird species, are among the most biodiverse in Europe. However, the privatization of Romania’s national forests and intense agricultural land-grabbing have posed a threat to this complex ecosystem. Chantecaille is proud to support the Villa Abbatis Cultural Association’s work preserving the wild spaces and culturallandscapes of Romania.
The black jaguar is a sacred totem in many Amazonian cultures, the spirit protector of the rainforest and guide to the most highly regarded shamans. The Sacred Headwaters region of the Amazon, an 86-million-acre swath spanning Ecuador and Peru, harbors some of the largest populations of jaguars anywhere in the Americas. We created the Black Jaguar Eye Quartet to support Amazon Sacred Headwaters Initiative and their work, which aims to protect this vital region.
Cougars have prowled the American landscape for thousands of years, including in the 3,500 square mile Wyoming-Montana wilderness designated in 1872 as Yellowstone National Park. Our Cougar Eye Quartet was created to support Yellowstone Forever and their work protecting the cougar's ecosystem within the park.
Since 2006, our previous philanthropy collections have included these charity partners and their work conserving beauty in the wild.
Rajasthan, India is home to two of the most revered members of the big cat family: Royal Bengal tigers and Indian leopards. Both are critically endangered, due to loss of their natural habitat and poaching. Chantecaille is supporting SUJÁN’s Tiger and Leopard Conservation Projects to help protect and preserve the future of these magnificent cats in the wild.
Colorful butterflies, along with bees and other pollinators, help ecosystems thrive—but they have been declining at an alarming rate. We’re supporting the Xerces Society, which works to conserve invertebrates and their habitats by regenerating native landscapes, in turn promoting a vibrant food system.
We are putting our Holiday Lip Chics to work fighting climate change! For each lipstick sold we will plant a tree in Kenya with Sheldrick Wildlife Trust. Our longtime partners have been planting saplings around national parks and forests they manage in Kenya to protect habitat and support local communities. Together with SWT we planted 60,000 trees in 2019—and we’re not stopping there!
We created this limited-edition Safari Chic Collection in support of our longtime partner Space for Giants and their vital work protecting African elephants, the landscapes they depend on, and the people who live near them. These wild species and spaces face unprecedented threats in the fallout from a global pandemic and economic crisis.
In July 2019, WildAid invited Sylvie to Isla Mujeres, an island in Mexico where whale sharks—the largest fish in the sea, which can grow to the size of a bus—migrate in summer. The trip gathered conservation activists to experience their magnificent beauty up close, and to call attention to the growing crisis of the illegal wildlife trade.
Hummingbirds are a symbol of a healthy Amazon, but their magnificent forest home is under siege. Protecting it is vital for the health of the planet and the people who live there. With our limited-edition Lip Chic, we’re raising $75,000 to help the ASOMI indigenous women’s association buy back 75 acres of their Amazon home. We’re proud to support the Amazon Conservation Team in this effort.
Smaller than their African cousins, Asian elephants face similar threats from shrinking wilderness and runaway human population growth. We partnered with Elephant Family on a limited-edition Lip Veil to help protect the Asian elephant from extinction in the wild.
Melting glaciers are but one drastic effect of a rapidly warming climate. Polar ice is the habitat for polar bears and countless other arctic species who rely on glaciers for their survival. Protecting the ice is key in slowing the effects of climate change around the world.
We’ve chosen the gorillas as a symbol of the disappearing forest, as their tropical habitats are being destroyed systematically to make space for industrial agriculture.
Meet three women in conservation who have each achieved groundbreaking success with their innovative methods and passionate determination.
A true passion for conservation led Stephanie Dolrenry and Leela Hazzah, the founders of the Lion Guardians, to settle in Kenya. Both have devoted their careers to conserving lions and preserving cultures.
We use botanicals sourced from around the world. It’s important that the natural ingredients we use are harvested in socially and ecologically responsible ways.
As top predators, wolves play a vital role in maintaining the natural balance of the environment. Conservation Northwest is an organization working to return wolf populations to certain regions.
Vital to keeping the planet cool as it reflects the sun’s heat, glacial ice is melting at an alarming rate, speeding up the warming of our planet.
The Monarch butterfly, a national symbol, is now on the endangered species list due to the drive for increased coastal development.
Acting as Nature’s pollinators, Bees have played an extremely vital role in our terrestrial ecosystems for millions of years.
Embodying the Spirit of Freedom, Wild Horses have graced the American landscape for centuries, reminding us of our deepest connection to the Earth.

The health of the ocean is vital and coral reefs are sounding the alarm. Corals create spectacular undersea ecosystems, home to thousands of plant and animal species.
Sea turtles define all that is ancient and magical about our blue planet and yet they are endangered and struggling for survival, their numbers severely reduced from historical levels.
Tigers are poached, hunted and exterminated for small and big profit. The disappearance of wild tigers is of utmost urgency, as the loss of our top predators is the barometer of an ecosystem in trouble.
The Blue Whale epitomizes the health and harmony of the planet-and its well being is directly tied to that of the High Seas. In order to safeguard our planet, we must prevail upon the global community to work together to protect the High Seas.
